We are thrilled to be able to report the water project at the hospital in Gembu has been completed.
The project required a geological survey to ensure the best location was established to reach the water, drilling for the borehole then began. With a huge amount of physical effort, skilled carpentry and plumbing, incorporating quantities of timber, pipework, a submersible pump and an above ground PVC tank the hospital now has an onsite 50,000 litre
water reservoir. This immediately saves precious resources; manpower, time and fuel spent collecting water from the river. It also provides a reliable water source safe from sewerage and other effluent which contaminate the public water source.
Equipment Purchase
We have recently bought a new Oxygen Concentrator essential for use during surgical operations.
A new Generator has been acquired powering both the electrical equipment in the hospital as well as the pump in use for the reservoir.
These pieces of equipment are essential for the continued function of the hospital, saving lives daily.
